NEW DELHI: Despite overtaking the US last year to become the world's second largest internet user base after China, India is still behind many Asian countries when it comes to internet speed. But things are set to change in the next 18 months when Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to usher in an age of high-speed internet in the country with the launch of three communication satellites.

even Sri Lanka is ahead with 6mbps whom India has donated a space in satellite.
Its really bad situation in india that the internet cost is to high.... Government should spent some amountto provide unlimited Internet within Rs.100-200 since our ISRO is very matured in creating and launching the required satellite's.
It was high time that we enter high speed internet like Japan ,US ... with the launch of these new satellites its possible but also the network providers should decrease the cost so that even average earning group can utilize the high speed internet and unlimited download ... then it would be real fun .
Can not believe this news regarding speedy internet possibility. It s India and we only get creepy speed here
Its high time that India beefs up its infrastructure, both Physical , Digital as well as social, if it truly aspires to be a global leader !!
