China is building the world's largest solar park that's five times the size of Manhattan
China has been building the world's largest solar farm on the Tibetan Plateau in an ambitious bid to transform itself into the new green superpower.
The Gonghe Solar Park in Qinghai province sprawls over an area of 298 square kilometres (115 square miles), about five times the size of Manhattan, according to People's Daily.
A total of 42 Chinese solar companies have built a massive 3,450 megawatts installed capacity in the park, which could power families living in an area nearly as big as India.

Meanwhile Donald is replacing 3 renewables jobs with 1 fossil fuel job , the UK is prioritising triple cost nuclear and unwanted runways over tidal lagoons and wind . China yet again have learned from our mistakes , refined the techniques and lead the way while our leaders cling to out of date technology that pollutes the planet and leaves waste for hundreds of generations to deal with .

What's the cost? It's all well and good to spend government (tax) money to create jobs, but unless those jobs eventually produce a profit then that money spent is just an inefficient form of welfare.

Covering the sahara with solar panels could work as well.

Exactly what the US should be doing. Trump is so stupid he thinks solar "doesn't work". What an idiot.
