Is it safe for a Chinese student to backpack around India?
Yes. It is safe enough. Most Indians love tourists and are very hospitable.
I think it is. But you have to take care of certain factors. And understand that India is a huge country with a lot of diversity. So experience in one part of it is absolutely not the same as that in some other. If you go by your gut instinct, use common sense and don't let preconceived notions or prejudices fog your judgement, I think you should be just fine.

Yes very much, I have personally seen and spoke to a lot of Chinese backpackers in India. I have not yet any complaints from them on India and its people, but please be aware that we have a lot of mosquitoes and some towns lack sanitation.

Of course it is! There are many factors to take into consideration when travelling alone, I'd advise to travel with someone you can really trust, so that you both look out for each other. From my experiences, Indians are very friendly and hospitable.
Have a great trip!
Yes why not? India is safe and host its guest as "God".

Do you speak English ? I assume YES, now its safe !!
Being a Chinese, our appearance is close conjunction with Indians form north east states. You could say you are from north east and people will believe you. That being said few hooligans hate north-east indians, but its rare you will come across them.
Its absolutely safe to travel in India. Behold the normal backpacking rules that you have to follow. No place is safe if you do not know the rules. I backpack in Europe and i still have my safety measures in place.
There are numerous good places to visit in India and i recommend you do so after understanding the basic risks.
Best wishes and bon voyage !!

Surprisingly this question has been asked by a Sandhu , a Punjabi, I suppose, to me. A Chinese by Punjabi name?
Chinese are safe in India as so many of my friends have written. However, one should be careful and confined to the safe areas in Delhi and UP and avoid to take a wondering cab or an auto rickshaw alone with more than a driver inside.
There have been some incidents of some Chinese intruding into some grey and suspected areas for shooting and selling the shoots to the foreign media. India is peace loving and kind of innocent. Please refrain from visiting some still trouble torn remote areas of Kashmir and North East of India. Rest, all is well.
